Since 1967 we’ve lived in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. At 10,700’ they define the eastern boundary of the middle Rio Grande valley. A magnificent backdrop for rainbows during summer monsoons, their rugged granite face reflects the warm glow of the setting sun.
Our studio home is near the Forest Service boundary, beyond which the view to Sandia Crest is uninterrupted by buildings and city lights. We enjoy wildlife sightings: bobcats, coyotes, roadrunners, Sandhill cranes, quail, ravens, jackrabbits, and yes — rattlesnakes.
